(THEBLAZE) — According to an eye opening report by CNN, in the report on Russian interference with the 2016 elections, it was revealed that Russian operatives claim to have damaging information of both a personal and financial nature on President-elect Donald Trump. The document itself was presented by intelligence chiefs, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, FBI Director James Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, and NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers.
Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.
The report also details how the Trump camp, despite repeated denials, had been in contact with the Russian government during the elections. The intelligence chiefs included the unofficial synopsis in the report to make the president-elect aware that these allegations were being floated around about him.
Trump transition team has refused to comment on the situation as of yet, but they are working on a statement.

Matt Walsh, a TheBlaze contributor comments on his Facebook page:
“A completely unverified report has now been released from an unnamed intelligence source claiming not only that the Russians have loads of compromising material on Trump, but that Trump essentially spied on Americans at Russia’s behest. This report has actually been circulating since before the election, but most media outlets refused to run it because it was unverified. We know now, however, that very high ranking American intelligence officials briefed Trump and Obama on this report. That doesn’t mean the report is true, but I suppose it indicates that it’s being taken seriously.
“Look, if all of these allegations were true, I would be the first to call for Trump’s immediate arrest. The penalty for treason against the United States should be doled out equally, no matter who the culprit happens to be. But some of the allegations are incredibly salacious and outlandish and they have not been independently confirmed by anyone, nor has anyone gone on the record to vouch for them. That means Trump gets the benefit of the doubt, just as you would want the benefit of the doubt if extraordinary and libelous rumors were circulating about you. Liberals certainly want this all to be true, but wanting something to be true does not make it so (a concept they often struggle with).
“Be extremely skeptical of anyone who takes all of these allegations at face value and believes them all out of hand. But — BUT — also be skeptical of anyone who dismisses them all out of hand and swears with their hand on a Bible that none of it can possibly be true. The fact is that none of us know what’s true and what isn’t. And it’s clear that our intelligence agencies are neither taking the report at face value nor rejecting it in its entirety.
“Where does that leave us? I wish I knew.”
